1. SPONSOR: The 2017 Cointreau Mixology Challenge Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) is sponsored by Rémy Cointreau USA, Inc. (“Sponsor”), 1290 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10104 and is presented and administered by a third party, Liquor.com (“Administrator”).
  2. SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD: The Sweepstakes opens on April 24, 2017, at 12:00:01 a.m. PST and will close on May 29 2017, at 11:59:59 p.m. PST (“Sweepstakes Period”) and consists of a sweepstakes drawing (“Sweepstakes Drawing”) that will be held on or around May 30, 2017.
  3. ELIGIBILITY: The Sweepstakes is open to legal and current residents of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, or Wisconsin who are twenty-five (25) years of age or older at time of entry. The Sweepstakes is void where prohibited by law. Employees of Rémy Cointreau, Liquor.com, their affiliates, liquor wholesale licensees, as well as advertising/promotion agencies and their immediate family members and household members of each and retail license holders are not eligible. This Sweepstakes is void wherever prohibited, taxed or restricted by law. In the event the contest is challenged by any legal or regulatory authority, Sponsor or Administrator reserves the right to discontinue or modify the Sweepstakes, or to disqualify participants residing in the affected geographic areas. In such event, Sponsor and Administrator shall have no liability to any entrants who are disqualified due to such an action.
    • ONLINE ENTRY: No purchase necessary to enter or win a prize. During the Sweepstakes Period, an Entrant must (i) visit Cointreau.Liquor.com, (ii) enter email address, region of residence, name and date of birth, (iii) submit One (1) original recipe using Cointreau, that meets all the following criteria:
      • The cocktail should have a creative name.
      • The cocktail recipe must include Cointreau as the primary ingredient, using a minimum of 1oz.
      • Recipes must be original. An original recipe is the product of one's own mind and is not a copy or imitation
      • Ingredients must be expressed in fluid ounces (.5 oz., 1 oz., 2 oz., etc.), with dashes and drops being the smallest quantities.
      • Preparation and mixing instructions must be included with your recipe.
      • An image of your cocktail must be included with your recipe.
      • A background story / your inspiration must be included in your entry.
      • Limit one full entry per person. Recipes must be original. An original recipe is the product of one's own mind and is not a copy or imitation.
    • RANDOM DRAWINGS: During the Sweepstakes Drawing period, the administrator will randomly select sixteen (16) potential Off-Premise finalists (two (2) from each Region), and sixteen (16) potential On-Premise finalists, from among all eligible entries received. The potential finalists are deemed to be finalists pending verification of eligibility and compliance with Official Rules. For the purposes of determining the winners by Regional, entries will be assigned to the closest applicable market, as determined by the Sponsor.
    • PRIZES:
      • Off-Premise Finalists (16): Off-Premise finalists win the opportunity to compete/demonstrate their cocktail recipe at a local event held at a pre-determined local liquor store. The finalists’ cocktails will be “judged”, but both will win a Bartender kit and a retailer gift card. Approximate retail value (“ARV”): $150.
      • On-Premise Finalists (16): On-Premise finalists win the opportunity to compete/demonstrate their cocktail recipe at a local event held at a pre-determined local bar. The finalists’ cocktails will be “judged”, but both will win a Bartender kit and a retailer gift card. ARV: $150.
      • Odds of Winning: The odds of winning depend upon the total number of eligible Entries received during the Sweepstakes Period.

      Entrants who reside outside of the participating regions and are randomly selected to participate are responsible for their travel expenses to the regional events (if applicable).

    • Any entries attempted through the use of agencies or robotic, repetitive, automatic, programmed or similar methods will be void. Any attempt by a person to use multiple email accounts or identities to gain more entries than permitted by these Official Rules shall result in disqualification at the sole discretion of Sponsor. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the "authorized account holder" associated with the email address at the time of entry, which must comply with these Official Rules. The authorized account holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by the service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses. Potential winners may be required to provide evidence (to Sponsor's satisfaction) that they are the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with a winning entry. In the event a dispute regarding the identity of the person who actually submitted an entry cannot be resolved to Sponsor's satisfaction, the affected entry will be deemed ineligible. Entries and other submitted material become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. Refer to Additional rules below for more details regarding the requirements for your entry.
    • Entries must be in English. Entries must not allude to the overconsumption or irresponsible consumption of beverage alcohol. Entries that do not include all required information and do not adhere to the foregoing and following requirements will be considered void and will not be considered in the judging of this contest. Entries that are deemed by Sponsor in its sole discretion to be illegal, obscene, profane or not in keeping with Sponsor's image will be disqualified.
    • By entering this program, you are giving Rémy Cointreau USA, Inc., Liquor.com and its affiliates explicit rights to use your photo, an image of your drink, drink recipe name, and your drink recipe for publicity purposes, including but not limited to: press, social media, digital activation and promotional activation.
    • Each contestant grants to sponsor a worldwide, royalty free, perpetual and unlimited non-exclusive license to edit, adapt, copyright, publish, use, reproduce or distribute the recipe, and or grand prize winner’ in any form or manner or media, whether now known or hereafter devised including, without limitation, on the Internet, for any purpose in connection with this sweepstakes without further notice or compensation to any contestant
    • Each contestant consents to the publication and/or use of the contestant’s name, city/province of residence, photograph, image and/or likeness in any form or manner or media, whether now known or hereafter devised including, without limitation, on the Internet, for any purpose in connection with this sweepstakes without further notice or compensation to any contestant.
    • Each contestant represents and warrants that the recipe submitted by the contestant is the original work of the contestant exclusively, and contestant waives any and all moral rights that he/she may have in the Recipe with respect to the uses contemplated herein.

Signature Cocktail Competition

  1. This is a spirit on spirit cocktail, with famous brand serving as the base spirit. No muddled fruit, juices and or syrups should be used in making a Signature. Fruits, herbs, essences and spices may be used in infusions however.
  2. Modifiers such as fortified wines, bitters, tinctures, infusions and citrus oils are acceptable variables in a Signature cocktail.
  3. The ratio of modifier(s) to base spirit (famous brand) should never exceed 50:50. The cocktail should be not exceed 3.5 oz.
  4. The Signatures' traditional garnishes are a citrus twist or olives. Cocktail onions are also an acceptable garnish. When thinking of new garnishes, let your imagination run wild.
  5. The cocktail can be served up or on the rocks. In addition, it may be stirred or shaken. Glassware and presentation are up to the contestants.
